Dr. John W. Alldredge is an Ear, Nose & Throat Specialist (ENT) and member of Acadiana Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery in Lafayette. Dr. Alldredge is the only fellowship trained Sinus Specialist in Acadiana and one of the few in the entire southeastern United States. While Dr. Alldredge practices comprehensive pediatric and adult Ear, Nose, and Throat, he sub-specializes in the management of sinonasal disorders such as chronic rhinosinusitis. He is an expert in functional endoscopic sinus surgery, revision endoscopic sinus surgery, and endoscopic resection of sinus tumors, endoscopic repair of cerebrospinal fluid leaks, and endoscopic treatment of various orbital conditions such as chronic epiphora.
Throughout his training he has contributed to and authored several publications and book chapters. Dr. Alldredge is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners. He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, American Rhinologic Society, American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, Louisiana State Medical Society, and Lafayette Parish Medical Society. Dr. Alldredge was raised in Lafayette, LA and attended high school at the Episcopal School of Acadiana. After high school, he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Alabama where he received his B.S. in Biology, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Here he was an active member in multiple national honor societies including Golden Key National Honor Society, Gamma Beta Phi, Phi Kappa Phi, Elliot Society, as well as the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa honor society.
He chose to continue his studies at LSU School of Medicine-New Orleans where he was elected a member of Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society. He then stayed at LSU-New Orleans to complete his General Surgery internship. Dr. Alldredge eventually moved to Chapel Hill, NC to complete his Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (Ear, Nose and Throat) residency at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. After residency, he pursued specialized fellowship training in the treatment and management of sinus and nasal disorders at the Sinus and Nasal Institute of Florida in St. Petersburg where he completed his Rhinology and Sinus Surgery fellowship.
